The assault caused the temporary closure of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

An additional two individuals are now in custody related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to police.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.

These detentions follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, two women were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the those hurt during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later released.

Officers detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault near the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.

The assault - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
